Hello, hello
It feels like it’s been a while since we sat down to write one of these updates. And it has! Three months, to be exact..........
We’ve had a lovely winter, enjoying slow weekends, sleep-ins, family time and not a single sales trip in sight. We’re so thankful for your support over the past 12 months. The response to the wines has been amazing, and we’re chuffed that you’ve been enjoying the range. Now the sun is out, the winery is waking up, and the 2026 wines are beginning to show their character in barrel and tank.
We’re coming out of hibernation too, and over the past few days, we’ve been dusting off bottles and digging through pallets to pull together something we’ve wanted to share for a long time: a little museum stock.
With every A Thousand Gods release, we hold back a small quantity to open over time and follow its development in the years after bottling. Since day one, our dream has been to share these older bottles with you, along with the pleasure of tasting a wine that’s had time to come into its own.
As a small producer, holding back stock is tough. It takes up space, it’s hard on cash flow, and keeping track of it all can be a logistical nightmare. But when have we ever let a business challenge get in the way of drinking special wines?
There’s a common belief that wines made without any added preservatives can’t be cellared, and it’s become something of a personal mission to show how well they can, when made under the right conditions. When produced from high quality grapes, processed in a clean winery, and guided with thoughtful intent and time, zero additive wines will evolve into classically boned fine wines, that will just keep getting better.
And we know that unless we cellar some bottles ourselves and hold them back for late release, very few will get the chance to be enjoyed this way.
So, without further ado, we’re excited to share two very limited releases from the A Thousand Gods Vault:

We have a very limited quantity of 5 year old Blanc that we have dug out from our reserve stock. Drinking wonderfully now, this will reward those looking to drink something truly special.
Pale gold colour. On the nose, notes of flinty riesling-esque petroleum reduction, opening to ginger, lemongrass, mandarin, ripe melon and bergamot. The palate is tightly coiled and concentrated with bracing fresh-lime acidity and serious length. Drinking great now, this has still plenty of life left to reward several more years in bottle

We have a very limited quantity of 5 year old Giara that we have brought out from the cellar. Drinking wonderfully now, this will reward those looking to try something special.
Orange-blossom, grapefruit, mandarin peel, honey and spice flow from the nose through to a plush palate with fine-grained tannins that create length and width
Marlborough sauvignon blanc through the lens of ancient winemaking technique
Expressive and complex.
If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to restock your winecart, this is it. Once these bottles are gone, that’s the last of them.
Stay with us. We’re not done yet!
We’re also welcoming two new wines to the line-up:
100% petit manseng from the magnificent Churton vineyard
This wine is as rare as hen's teeth. There is currently just over 1ha of petit manseng planted in Aotearoa New Zealand, so we were absolutely moon when the Weaver family offered us the chance to work with this wonderful grape here in NZ. We believe this variety is one of the greatest white grapes on the planet, but it is not so well known outside of its home region of Jurançon in the foothills of the Pyrenees
Petit manseng when kept as a single variety is typically made into off-dry and sweet wines- but we've made a dry version
The 2025 No Devices was picked with 60-70% botrytis, yielding an exotic and intensely complex wine with Sauternes-esque aromas of candied orange, marmalade and caramel, balanced by powerful acidity and vibrant varietal notes of pineapple, mango and jasmine
This is a truly unique wine with enormous cellar potential, rewarding those who have the patience to hold it

Pristine no additive viognier that sits comfortably at the crossroads of ripe, rich and varietal, and fresh and energetic.
Direct-pressed and aged in old wood for 11 months.
Our website stock has been looking slim for long enough and we’re pumped to get some new (and old) wines online.
Everything is waxed, labelled and ready to ship. We can’t wait to share these bottles with you.
